Community Initiatives
Foundations' community initiatives provide support to underserved
children and their families from birth through adulthood. Because
we understand that their needs often result not from a single challenge,
but from a combination of many different but related factors, our
community initiatives use multifaceted approaches to helping each
individual reach his or her full potential. We focus on helping children,
youth, and adults gain access to essential services in the areas
of Education, Employment, and Civic Engagement and on building safe
and thriving communities and neighborhoods.
Our KidZone Philadelphia program builds awareness and connects
families to the full range of services they need to help their
children be successful in school, beginning at birth. Once
young people reach high school we help them focus on and prepare
for higher education and/or substantial jobs and careers. We
also link with them with quality summer employment opportunities
through which they build important skills for their futures.
