visits, be sure to check in at the site visit table (near the main registration
table) on Thursday, February 14 to receive your bus assignment and required
wristband for boarding. If you have not pre-registered, you are welcomed
to check in at the site visit table to see if there are any open spots due

What do afterschool programs look like in Jacksonville? Take advantage
of a popular Beyond School Hours conference feature: guided site
visits to some of the best afterschool programs in the host city. Site
visits will allow guests to see successful programs, talk with staff
and program participants, and share best practices.
Nearly 10 years ago, Jacksonville was one of the first cities to
receive 21st Century Community Learning Centers funding from the
U.S. Department of Education. Jacksonville’s unique partnership
with the Jacksonville Children’s Commission and Duval County
Public Schools and strong collaboration with area non-profit organizations,
all of the original programs are still in operation today. Programs
are designed to enhance the student’s academic performance
in language arts, science, and math while providing cultural experiences
and rich social activities. Come see why Jacksonville’s afterschool
sites are the buzz of the entire city!

Site visit registrations are taken on a first-come,
first-served basis. This year, because site visits will occur on
the opening day of the conference, when many attendees will
be travelling, we strongly encourage you to pre-register as follows:

- Organization
- Contact Information
- Names of others from your organization who will attend the
visit
* Important:
- You will still need to check in at the site visit table on 2/14 to receive your
specific bus assignment.
- All site visit attendees must be officially registered
for the conference. Those names which are not listed as
official registrants for the entire conference will not
be permitted to attend the site visits.
