The Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching

A statewide effort to develop and sustain high-quality instructional coaching

Funded by The Annenberg Foundation, PIIC designs and delivers training programs for instructional coaches and school leaders, starting at the high-school level. PIIC also trains new instructional mentors to serve coaches and leaders across all districts.

The initiative promotes Pennsylvania’s priorities in education, including its focus on standards aligned systems and 21st century skills with the goal of building teacher capacity and improving student outcomes across all content areas.

PIIC builds on the three years of experience and materials from the Pennsylvania High School Coaching Initiative, also funded by The Annenberg Foundation, in which Foundations was a key partner. Other PIIC partners include the Penn Literacy Network and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
